PISTON CHECK VALVES
Piston check valves are used to protect pumps or similar equipment. They are mainly used in conjunction with globe and angle valves in piping systems where the direction of flow changes frequently. Piston check valves have a dash-pot consisting of a piston and a cylinder, which exerts a cushioning effect during operation. These valves allow flow in one direction and prevent flow reversal due to back pressure.
They provide a better pressure drop in pipelines. Piston check valves are also called lift check valves.
